Christmas Count Down Ornaments

Happy Sunday everyone -- and a big "Thank You" to all of you who "hopped" over to my blog and/or Facebook page for the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Design Team Christmas Hop yesterday!  We greatly appreciate the many, many wonderful comments left for us and we welcome all our new followers!  I will be drawing a winner from my blog AND a winner from my Facebook Fan Page tomorrow for my "hop candy" (Music Sheet Embossing Folder), so keep your fingers crossed!

Today I'm sharing a little Christmas Count Down Ornament project.  With the final days before Christmas upon us, I thought this would be a fun way to count them down.

The base of these ornaments is a 4" chipboard coaster that I purchased on eBay several years ago and was so happy to finally have a purpose for them LOL! The paper piecings are from the "Advent Calendar" collection by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  I sized the patterns down in SCAL to fit the 4" coaster.  After they were put together, I punched a hole through each one with my Crop-A-Dile (LOVE this tool) and tied a ribbon through the hole.  Then all that was left to do was to put them on my little table tree:

Aren't they adorable???  They are a little extra special because my SIL was here visiting with me (she and her family are currently living out of the country and are back in CA for the holidays) and she just LOVES to play with paper as much as I do, so she jumped right in to help with these.  LOVE her for that!

Here's a closer look at each one:

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Gotta go take a couple of these off the tree...counting down you know!!!

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Today I have created a two-page layout to share with you entitled "The Nutcracker".

The files used on this layout are "Nutcracker", "Christmas Borders", and "Catching Snowflakes" which are all from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. Here are some close-up photos:

I just LOVE the plaid and music sheet papers together.

I designed the title in eCal (SCAL for the Sizzix Eclips) using a font on my computer.

I used some pink vellum for the Sugar Plum Fairy's wings and added some shimmery silver ink on the edges.

This snowflake border is actually called the Snowman Border in the "Christmas Borders" file because it has a large snowman to go with it.  After I cut the snowflake border out using some Core'dinations glitter paper, it just seemed to disappear into the background paper so I created a Blackout Shadow for it using the same green paper I used on the photo mats.  Much better!

I did the same Blackout Shadow for these snowflake embellishments (which are from the "Catching Snowflakes" pattern).

Thank you so much for joining in our LSHD Design Team Christmas Hop.  Don't forget to "follow" me and leave a comment to be eligible to win my Hop "Candy" AND the $100 Shopping Spree at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  In the spirit of The Nutcracker, one lucky person will win a Music Sheet embossing folder from me!  Merry Christmas and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season!

Merry & Bright Christmas Card

Here's a quick Christmas card I made last night that features the "Christmas Light Post" pattern from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

I love this light post pattern!  The sentiment embellishment is a punch by EK and the stamp is from a Hampton Art stamp and die set that I think I picked up at Scrapbook Expo...can't remember for sure!

When I first made this card it was just on the red cardstock and seemed to need "something".  I remembered I had some gold metallic paper and used that behind the red paper.  Just what it needed!

Thanks for looking!

Merry Christmas Layout

Hi everyone!  Tonight I'm sharing a one-page layout that I made using the Candy Cane Bear from the "Hot Chocolate Bears" collection and the snowflakes from the "Catching Snowflakes" files -- both by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.

The paper that I used is from a Mambi Sheets Christmas stack by Me & My BIG Ideas that I got at Michaels.  It already has the candy canes and the title printed on it.  I love the bright green background color -- so cheerful!  For the photo mat, I used the snowflake border and corner punches by Martha Stewart on some Coredinations glitter paper.  What's cool about using these punches is all the little snowflake confetti that is left over!  I added some of them on this paper and just love how they added that little bit of sparkle!

The paper has some snowflakes already printed on them (the ones with the really round tips), but on this next photo you can see the small snowflake confetti from the punched photo mat and also the large snowflakes which are from the "Catching Snowflakes" file.  I sized and cut these at 3" wide.

And last, but not least, is the star of the page -- the Candy Cane Bear.  He's so adorable sitting there holding his yummy candy cane!  He looks sooo cute on this paper -- just like they were made to go together, right???

I "Heart" Hot Chocolate Layout

After a super busy week, I was finally able to get my second project completed for my Design Team posting on the Little Scraps of Heaven Facebook page.  Here is my one-page layout that I titled "I (Heart) Hot Chocolate".  I must really like the "Hot Chocolate Bears" file from LSHD because this is the second layout I've made using patterns from that collection!  But it is sooo cute and easy to piece together and I have a ton of pictures of the grandson drinking his favorite drink -- hot chocolate!  To him it makes absolutely no difference if it is 46 degrees or 106 degrees outside; any time is the right time for hot chocolate LOL!

I used the "Cocoa Bear" and the cup from the "Bear With Cup patterns in the Hot Chocolate Bears collection. The title was designed in eCal (which is SCAL for the Sizzix eClips for those who may not know that), and I also used a couple of punches I have on hand for the other embellishments on the page.   Here are some close-ups:

This little "Cocoa Bear" is so cute laying across the can of cocoa.  I added the heart which was made from a Sizzix heart die.  The green photo corners were made using an EK Success punch.

The title looks great matted in white glitter paper and then matted again with the same brown cardstock I used for the lettering.

I LOVE how this cup of hot chocolate turns out.  I used an EK Success punch for the steam (mainly because I forgot to cut the ones out from the LSHD pattern -- oops!)

I hope you enjoyed seeing this layout -- I greatly appreciate you stopping by to check it out.

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Christmas Tags

Here is a quick project that I made using a newer file from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs called "Christmas Tags".  These are super easy to make. They measure approximately 4" x 2-3/4" and would work perfectly on larger gifts.

As you can see, there are six different designs -- Candy Cane, Snowflakes, Stocking, Sleigh, Wreath, and Bell.  The gift bag shown in the picture contains a full set of these tags.  I plan to give several of these sets to a couple of friends so they can use them on their Christmas gifts.

I actually made another project using one of these designs but will post about that at a later date because the event hasn't been held yet and I want to keep it under wraps for now...

Here's a quick link for the Christmas Tags file in case anyone would like to purchase their own set from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs:

Hot Chocolate Time

Today I'm sharing my latest two-page layout that I'm calling "Hot Chocolate Time".  The paper piecing pattern is from the Hot Chocolate Bears collection by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  I really love how this all came together:

Here are some close-ups:

I've had these little chocolate Kiss brads forever and jumped at the chance to use them on this layout!

The hearts on the cups are diecuts from a 3-piece Heart set by Sizzix.

For the title I used some chipboard Thickers alphabet stickers that I had on hand.  They are so cute with the stitching on them and I thought they went perfectly with this layout.  I found the perfect blue and red background papers from the Home for Christmas stack by DCWV that I purchased last year and the dot paper is by Bo Bunny.

This Hot Chocolate Bears pattern came together very easily and was fun to work with.  Each piece is adorable, but I just LOVE all the little chocolate chips and marshmallows floating on top of the hot chocolate.  Here is a quick link to the pattern in case you'd like to get one for yourself:

Thank you for stopping by ~ I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

I Love Snowmen

Yes, it's true...I absolutely  LOVE snowmen!  I have a TON of snowmen in all shapes and sizes that I decorate with for Christmas.  My tree is decorated with snowmen ornaments and accented with acrylic snowflakes and icicles.  I have glass snowmen, metal snowmen, stuffed snowmen, and singing snowmen. They are ALL favorites, but there are a few that are extra special. I've always thought about scrapbooking some of my favorite decorations and, of course, wasn't something that I actually took the time to do.  Then I saw the "Vintage Snowman" and "Snowballs For Sale" patterns on the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs' website and knew these were exactly what I needed to finally get that project started.  Tah dah...here's my first page!!!

In addition to the LSHD paper piecings on this layout, I used a Martha Stewart snowflake border punch, some glittered Thickers chipboard alphabet stickers, and the heart is a Sizzix Primitive Heart die-cut.  What's fun about using the snowflake border punch is you get these great little snowflake confetti to use somewhere else, which I did on the snowman's hat and scarf and on the bucket and sign.  I also used Icicle Stickles to accent just a little on the snowman, little snowflakes and the snowballs.

These two patterns from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs are sooo adorable!  I just love the old-fashioned look of this snowman...reminds me of how they looked when I was a little girl.

This bucket of "Snowballs For Sale" piecing is just way too cute!  Since my penmanship isn't the best, after I cut out the sign boards I ran them through my computer to print the words on them.  I used a font called FlairRoman and changed the color to a dark brown.

I not only love snowmen, but I LOVE this layout.  Need to get busy making an accompanying page for it because we all know I have more than just two favorite snowmen to feature...

These two patterns are extremely reasonable in price ($3 for both but right now the Vintage Snowman is on sale for $1.50).  Here are the links to the LSHD paper patterns if you'd like to check them out:

Thanks for visiting with me and, until next time...Happy Scrapping!

O Christmas Tree Layout

Here is a layout that I worked on the last couple days (yeah, I'm slow) that uses the new "Christmouse Caroling" pattern from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  I LOVE how this turned out.

I knew I wanted to use some Teresa Collins Christmas Tree paper that I bought at Expo last month and thought this pattern would work well with it. Honestly, I set out to make this a school Christmas program layout but then one on my fellow LSHD Design Team members posted on Facebook some pictures of her and her family setting up their Christmas tree and that took my design thought process in a whole different direction.  Side note:  We usually wait until AFTER Thanksgiving to even think about putting up our tree but, hey, my DT pal lives in Canada and they've already HAD their Thanksgiving LOL!!!

Anyway,  I could totally see these little mice singing 'O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, How lovely are your branches' and so my layout is now all about the tree...  Can't wait to take pictures of our tree this year and put them on this layout.

These caroling mice are just so stinkin' cute!  The little guy in the middle just makes me smile!

Since there's singing going on here, I thought using some music sheet patterned paper as part of my circle mat worked perfectly!  I also used some Core'dinations glitter paper on this layout to give it a little "snowy" sparkle.

I designed the title in SCAL2 and used a font called Kingthings Petrock because I thought it looked a little Victorian and would go nicely with the mice. The title is also matted in Core'dinations glitter papers.

This pattern turned out so awesome so I'm still thinking about making another set and doing that school Christmas program layout afterall...hmmm.....

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Let's Feast Layout

I've had this fabulous turkey paper for a while now and when Little Scraps of Heaven Designs released their new "Let's Feast" pattern, I couldn't wait to use both of them together!  Here is my layout:

And now a closer look at each page separately:

In addition to the "Let's Feast" pattern, I also used the "Peeking Turkey" pattern from LSHD.  Here are some close-ups:

All the food items took me a little longer to piece together than I thought it would take, but I was mostly stumped on how to make my corn on the cob look like, well, corn on the cob.  Then it finally came to me...use those Copic pens that are just sitting there taking up space LOL!  The pattern for the corn has some holes that cut, exposing the bottom layer to where it looks like the kernels, but since I sized the pattern down in SCAL2, I lost some of that dimension.  The Copics worked super and I'm really pleased with the outcome.

Hope this gives you some inspiration for scrapbooking your upcoming Thanksgiving Feast!  Thanks for looking and, until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Sweater Time Layout

Happy Thursday!  It's been a busy week and yesterday I was like "yikes" because it was already Wednesday and I hadn't started on any of my Design Team projects for the week.  The "Sweater Time" pattern was one I really wanted to do something with.  A couple weeks ago Tricia, the owner of Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, asked the DT for file suggestions and I responded that since the seasons were changing, how about something like Sweater Weather.  She liked the idea and turned it into a super cute pattern.

Here's my "It's Sweater Time" layout:

The title, girl and boy are from the "Sweater Time" file.  Since my grandson has blue eyes, I gave my little guy here blue eyes -- switched it up from the normal brown or black that is normally used to make eyes.  This particular pattern doesn't have a piece for the noses so I just added one from another file.  They look fine without the noses also, but I just preferred them with one.

Don't they look cute standing in the middle of those beautiful fall leaves?  I just had to have them each holding a leaf!  I also gave the little girl's shoes pearl snaps.

For the rest of the layout I used the tree from the LSHD "Boy On A Limb" file and the leaves are from the "Harvest Friends" and "Moose With Leaf Chain" files.  Here's a closer look at the title, tree and leaves:

I hope you enjoyed my layout!  Until next time...Happy Scrapping!
