BIG Spender Layout

Happy Monday! I'm kicking my week off with a layout I made using the Cuddly Cute Designs "A Penny Saved" file. A couple weeks ago my grandson raided his piggy bank and used his "hard earned" money he'd been saving at my house to buy a pricey Lego set and I was able to sneak a couple photos of him at the store. It was such a windy day, but he was all smiles with his new purchase.

I made my own border in SCAL2 by using the "cent" sign. Since I've set a goal for myself to use something "old" with any new project, I used some chipboard letters, Distress Ink, and Glimmer Mist from my stash for my title and also used an older photo corner punch to embellish my photo mats.

And here's a closer look at my paper piecing:

The "A Penny Saved" file is such a fun collection and it also includes an adorable little girl holding a piggy bank, some extra coins and a title. Here's a peek at what the whole file looks like:

You can also check it out on he Cuddly Cute Designs website by clicking HERE.

Using this cutting file made perfect "cents" for this project and I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Until  next time... Happy Scrapping!

Thank you for joining our HOP on the WILD SIDE brought to you by Cuddly Cute Designs and The Scrapoholic Candy Shop! If you just came from Jenni’s page, then you are in the right place!

These new photopolymer stamps were so much fun to play with and I can’t wait to show you my WILD project! And did you know that just for HOPPING along with us you could WIN your very own “Day at the Zoo” stamp set? The Scrapoholic is going to give one complete set of the “Day at the Zoo” stamps out to one lucky participant! All you need to do is “LIKE” the Cuddly Cute Designs fan page, “LIKE” the Scrapoholic Candy Shop page and “LIKE” each DT member’s fan page and ‘COMMENT’ on every stop along the Hop to be eligible. That’s it!!! I’ve also heard some of the zoo animals ROARING about The Scrapoholic Candy Shop having a special HOP on the WILD SIDE offer! No LION… I’m PAWSITIVE you’re going to love it!  To check it out, be sure to visit www.thescrapoholiccandyshop.com at the end of the Hop.

For my project I made a two-page 8x8 layout and used my Copic pens to color the adorable Elephant and Lion which were stamped on 2x2 squares. Disclaimer: I'm not very good with the Copics, but I love learning something new and playing with them! I stamped the Leaf stamp on green cardstock and then fussy-cut around them. I also used a portion of the “Walk on the WILD Side” sentiment as part of my tag.

My daughter’s baby shower (eight years ago!) was Jungle Baby themed and I hadn’t quite finished scrapbooking those pictures (hey...no judging LOL!), so when I saw these stamps I immediately thought OMGosh! They definitely gave me a scrapbooking “push” and incentive to pull out that unfinished project and work on the album!

Cuddly Cute Design PAPER DOLL CHALLENGE

Happy Wednesday!  Over at the Cuddly Cute Designs Facebook page, they are currently  hosting a Paper Doll Challenge and here's my take on it!

I used the Superhero Shirts pattern for this project and proportionally sized it so the boy was approximately 9 inches tall.  Since he doesn't really have a body, I made a plain black shirt to use as a base for switching out his shirts.

I then cut out and assembled all the Super Hero Shirts that are included with this file.  Aren't they just "super" cute???  They actually were pretty fun to put together!

To make this a real paper doll, I added magnetic strips to the backs of the shirts so that they could be swapped out "faster than a speeding bullet"...well, sort of LOL!

I hope you enjoyed this project.  If you'd like to participate in the Paper Doll Challenge and be eligible to win a cutting file of your choice from Cuddly Cute Designs, go to their FB page HERE for all the info.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Sweet As Honey Layout

Today I'm sharing a layout I made using the "Sweet As Honey Title" from Cuddly Cute Designs. A couple years ago I held a We BEE Scrappin' NSD crop at my house for a few friends and hadn't quite finished scrapbooking my pictures from that day. Our day was filled with tons of "bee" themed fun and games, so this pattern was a perfect match and a great incentive for me to get this layout completed.

I created the other part of the title and added a couple more flowers from the Sweet As Honey Title pattern.

Another fun part of this layout is that I used papers, borders, and "bling" bees that were part of the SWAG bags I gave everyone!  And how cute are the photo frames?  I got these probably 6-7 years ago when one of our local stores closed and have held on to them that long.  Finally the perfect project came along to use them LOL!

I love how this layout turned out! So how about you...do you think Scrapbooking With Friends Is Sweet As Honey???

Until next time... Happy Scrapping!

Love You TONS Layout

Here's a layout I created using the Cuddly Critter Elephant file and one of the banners from the Banners Galore set, both by Cuddly Cute Designs.

We all have kids or grandkids, boys and/or girls, and they just fill a huge part of our hearts, so I'm calling this layout "Love You TONS" and it is perfect for a 5x7 photo of your little one(s).

Here is a closer look at the elephant paper piecings:

Since I was making this a 'boy' layout, I decided to make the inner elephant ears blue.  These adorable animals were so simple and easy to assemble and I am absolutely thrilled with how cute they turned out.

I just love the new Banners Galore set by Cuddly Cute Designs.  There are actually 10 - Yes, 10! - different "styles" of banners in this set and it is the current FREEBIE on the Cuddly Cute Designs website.  Don't wait too long to get your copy of this file as it is FREE for a very limited time!!!  And now, here's a photo of the banner and the rest of my title:

I designed the wording of my title in SCAL2 using two different fonts from my computer.

"Super Dad" Father's Day Card

Here's a "super" fun Father's Day card I made using the new "Super Dad" pattern by Cuddly Cute Designs. I really love how this piece turned out! I popped this little guy up by using an Action Wobble so now, when you flick him, he looks like he's flying through the air and leaping tall buildings!

Isn't the background paper I used really cool?  This is actually part of a paneled paper that I've had ever since my 7-year old grandson was like one or two, and I purchased it just because I KNEW I'd probably need it someday LOL!  This paper has about 5-6 paneled city scenes that work perfectly for this type of project.

Here's a quick look at my super simple sentiment.  I love this comic book looking font.  It's called SF Comic Strip.

Don't forget the 50% Off Sale on the CCD website where you can grab your own "super" files: www.cuddlycutedesigns.com

Little Fishies

Here's a layout I created as a Design Team sample project for the new GLITTER CHALLENGE going on now on the Cuddly Cute Designs Facebook fan page.  I used the Cuddly Critter Fish for this layout and I just LOVE how sparkly and colorful my fish turned out!

Although I have tons of glitter papers, I decided to REALLY get my *S*P*A*R*K*L*E* on and made my own using colored cardstock, adhesive paper (since I don't own a Xyron), and some of the beautiful glitter colors I have.  Aren't they fun looking?  I hardly ever think to use glitter anymore, especially with so many beautiful glitter papers on the market, but it was really fun, challenging and different!  After adhering the glitter to my cut pieces, I covered them with the protective papers off the adhesive sheet and used a rub-on tool to burnish and really set the glitter.  This worked perfectly so that the glitter stays exactly where it should.  Here are my glittery fish:

To add a little definition to my glittered fish, I used Copic pens to very lightly outline the pieces.  This was much easier than trying to ink or chalk my usual way and I was very happy with the end result.

My title was made using some really bubbly and sparkly looking alphabet stickers by Thickers.  These were just the thing for this layout!

Although I was having fun playing with glitter, I did draw the line as far as my photo mats go and used my store-bought glitter papers LOL!

So what do you think?  Are you ready to get SPARKLY and enter a Challenge project on the CCD Facebook page?  Winner will be randomly chosen and will get a free CCD file of their choice!  You can use glitter, Stickles, glitter paper, anything that *S*P*A*R*K*L*E*S*.  Challenge ends on June 21st.   Here are some quick links for you to check this all out:

Say Cheese!

Here's a bright a cheery layout to get your week started!  I created this layout using the mice from the "Peppermint Pals" file by Cuddly Cute Designs (which I actually "named" in a "Name This File" contest last year prior to joining their Design Team!) and the camera is from their "Grandma-azzi" pattern.

The mice in the actual pattern are wearing some fun winter hats and scarves but I didn't need those particular pieces for this layout -- or the candy canes LOL!  Can't say enough how adorable these little critters turned out.  Here's a closer look at each of them -- first the Boy mouse:

And now the Girl mouse.  Notice her little hair bow?  It's a pattern piece from her hat that is in the actual pattern.  And how about my "cheesy' looking camera?  Love how this turned out!

For my title, I used a Star from the Shapes Library in SCAL2 and punched two circles (1" and 3/4") for the word "SAY" and just cut my paper into squares around each letter in "Cheese" and chalked the paper edges.  The letters are both Thickers alphabet stickers; Rockabye foam stickers for the green ones and Sprinkles vinyl stickers for the yellow ones.  I've had both these alphabets for quite some time and, honestly, all the vinyl ones pretty much fell off their paper in the package.  I had to apply adhesive to them to make them stick but I like the way they don't look flat on my papers.  Sort of gives them that American Cheese look LOL!  Here's an upclose look at the titles:

I also added some star eyelets to my photo mats to go along with the pattern on my background paper and added some sparkly ribbon that has dots that went with my paper also.

So there you have it!  Hope you enjoyed my project.  If you'd like to see what this "Peppermint Pals" pattern REALLY looks like, you can find it HERE and the "Grandma-azzi" file can be seen HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Layout

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Since my birthday was earlier this week I thought I'd make a birthday layout.  I've had this background paper by Best Creations for a very long time and when I re-discovered it in my stash I was really drawn to the colors and the sparkly balloons and stars.  So, as you can see, that's what I selected to use for my layout.  And, of course, I used four different shades of my beloved BoBunny dot papers!

Aren't the paper piecings just adorable?  They are all made from the "Happy Birthday" set by Cuddly Cute Designs and you can see that pattern on their website HERE.   I absolutely LOVE the font that the title is made from.  I don't know which font it is (as it's part of the pattern), but it is just so fun looking don't you think?  I love how the "i" is dotted with a little star as it totally matches the little glittered stars that are part of my background papers.

As part of my ongoing goal to use something "old" on every project, I actually dug out some Doodlebug Flocking that I just HAD to have about eight years ago and have never used!  I used some of the purple flocking on the girl's party hat to make it look all fuzzy and girly and I think it turned out cute!

Look at all these presents!  These were so super easy to assemble that I made two sets!

What's a birthday celebration without cake, right?  This birthday cake was so easy to put together.  I decided to decorate it a bit and used some Silver Liquid Pearls and then added Gold Liquid Pearls to the serving platter.  I purchased the Liquid Pearls at the last Scrapbook Expo I attended in March so I was excited to finally use them!

Of course you need balloons at a birthday celebration!  I applied Diamond Stickles to the balloon strings so that they matched the ones on my background papers.  And what a fun coincidence that the background balloons had shimmery bows on them.... just like the ones in the Cuddly Cute pattern!  Meant to be... LOL!

Thank you for stopping by today!  Until next time... Happy Scrapping!
