"Quack Me Up" Card

I think we all have friends who we can be silly with and who just totally cracks us up, so here's a cute card I put together using one of the ducks from the "Quacking Eggs" collection by Cuddly Cute Designs.

Even though this whole pattern set is adorable, for whatever reason I just love the little bow on top of the duck's head LOL!  I added the flowers to the cracked egg.  They were made from a punch out of some Core'dinations glitter paper scraps.  The flower centers are the Candi paper brads (a fav!).  Keeping up with my goal of using something OLD with something NEW!

I hope my card brings a smile to someone's face - it made me smile even while I was making it LOL!  If you'd like to see the whole pattern, you can check it out here.

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Happy Spring Layout

It's Friday and time for the weekend! To get mine started, I'm sharing a layout I just completed using the Spring Bunny collection by Cuddly Cute Designs.

This pattern set turns out so stinkin' cute and has a lot of its own 3D type dimensions due to the layering you do with the flower petals and stems/leaves. Absolutely LOVE this!

The white fence behind the little Spring Bunny makes the perfect background for the flowers and those pretty little blue birds. The pattern sample shows the little bird sitting on the fence, but I thought he was so cute that I made another one and positioned his wings to make it look like he was just landing next to those beautiful tulips.

Looks like the little Spring Bunny is lovin' those tulips also!

Although this pattern set also comes with a title, I decided to do mine a little differently only because I have set a scrapbooking goal for myself this year to use something OLD when making something NEW. In this case it was some sticker alphabets and some glitter dragonflies that I used an old punch to make.

I love how this layout turned out and hope you do, too! If you'd like to "hop" over to get your own Spring Bunny pattern, you can get it here.

Thanks for stopping by and, until next time, Happy Scrapping!

We BEE Scrappin' Layout

Have you ever seen a paper piecing pattern and it instantly makes you think "OMG I have some pictures that would work perfectly with this"??? Well, that's what happened with me when I saw the "Queen Bee Girls" pattern from Cuddly Cute Designs!

Back in 2013 I threw a small National Scrapbook Day celebration for some friends and my theme was "We BEE Scrappin". It was so fun decorating and planning everything BEE related LOL!  Although I have more photos to scrap from this super fun day (yeah, I'm just a little behind on my scrapbooking LOL!), here's a look at my beginning pages:

Here's a closer look at the first page:

The Bee Hive is so adorable and easy to assemble.  The little Daisies are just the cutest and, yes, each petal is separate but that's what makes them so cute! I love being able to shade each petal which, to me, makes the whole flower just pop off the page.  So worth the extra chalking (I use the Cats Eye Fluid Chalks by ColorBox).

These little Bees and the Queen Bee sitting on a bed of daisies while holding her jar of honey go so perfectly with the wording I had on the inside of my invitation ("Hope you can BEE there -- We're sure to have a HONEY of a time").

The front of my invitation doesn't include any Cuddly Cute Design patterns but I still love it and it made a great title block for my page!  The bees are from an older svg file I had from another company (**ahem**) waaaay before I became a Design Team Member for CCD!  I designed the "We BEE Scrappin" title myself in SCAL2 and it's so cute sitting on top of the black polka dotted ribbon (which everyone got in their SWAG bucket also).

And now here is the second page:

For years my scrappin' buddies have been calling me "Queen", so how perfect was the "Queen Bee" title from CCD?  Even though you can't see the detail on my yellow shirt in this photo, it is blinged out with the words (what else??) QUEEN BEE LOL!!!  And check out my shoes... took an old pair of black sandals and put strips of yellow duct tape on them - hilarious!

I just love how this little Queen Bee turned out.  Everything about her is just so adorble!  When I was laying the pattern out on my computer, I actually sized the wings down a bit; no reason other than just my preference.  I used white Core'dinations glitter paper to cut them out.

After I had my pages all laid out and ready to glue, it just seemed like something was missing so I cut out more of the daisies and added them at the top of the photos on my second page.  Much better!  The little daisies on the photo captions are actually from a self-adhesive border roll that I got from Michaels.  It was part of the SWAG (Stuff We All Get) bucket that everyone got. Using it and the little bee stickers kept me in line with my goal of using something "old" on my "new" projects -- so YAY!!!

I {Heart} U Bear

Hello and Happy Thursday!  Today I'm sharing a one-page layout as a new Design Team member for Cuddly Cute Designs.  If you haven't already, be sure to check out their adorable paper piecing patterns -- you'll be so glad you did! And right now they have everything on sale for 25% off, so it's a great time to shop and get some super cute files.  Here's a quick link:  Cuddly Cute Designs

For my first CCD project, I created this one-page layout using this week's FREEBIE -- the "I Heart U Bear".

This pattern is so versatile because it can be used for making a card or for scrapbooking your loved ones, your pets, or your funny little Valentine! The peeking bear is so adorable and I just LOVE the tiny hearts cut out of the letters.

When assembling the bear, I pop dotted his head for some added dimension on my page.  His little bottom is also raised off the page to allow photos to be added easily to the photo mats.

And here's a closer look at the background scalloped mat and the tops of the photo mats:

I'm so happy to report that so far I'm keeping up with my goal to use something "old" with my "new" projects (yay!).  For this layout it was not only using this amazing double-sided heart paper by TPC Studio, but also some paper flowers by Bazzill and The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I just love sharing my projects with you and hope you enjoy seeing them.

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

Lucky Leprechaun Layout

Hi there!  Today I'm sharing my new two-page layout that is titled "Lucky Leprechauns".  I just LOVE how this turned out and especially how the paper piecings just pop off the background paper.  I have so many St. Patrick's Day papers and the majority of them are different tones of green, but I really love how the orange tones on this background paper compliment the Leprechauns' beards!

For this layout I used two different files from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs. The clover border is from one of their newest collections called "Feeling Lucky" and you can see the whole collection here.  As soon as this collection was released, I could not wait to get my hands on it mainly because I was just getting ready to design my own clover border...and then I didn't have to. Happy Dance Time!!!  The other adorable pieces are from the "Happy Leprechaun Collection" and you can view it here.  And now for some closer looks at this layout!

This is the first page:

I pop-dotted this little leprechaun dancing a "jig" for some addition dimension.

I designed my own title in SCAL2 using a font called Dumbledor.

So what's your take on the Lucky Horseshoe....ends up or ends down?  I actually struggled with this one because I had always heard they should be pointed up so the good luck didn't run out, but after reading up on it on the Internet (yes, I was curious enough to look it up!), it can apparently be pointed up OR down, down meaning the good luck would pour down on those who passed under it.  So fingers crossed it's good luck either way!  I also outlined the horseshoe in gold glitter pen, even though the photo doesn't really show it.

And now the second page:

The rainbow pattern doesn't have a base to it, but each color fits perfectly next to the other to form this beautiful rainbow and the cloud is a cute touch, don't you think?

This lucky Leprechaun is having so much fun tossing all the coins he found in the Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow!  I chalked the coins and also highlighted them with a gold glitter pen for a little extra "bling". The Leprechaun and Pot of Gold are pop-dotted also, again for added dimension.

I cut out extra clovers to use as fillers in some empty spots and to add more continuity.

The clover border was just the perfect accent I needed for this page.  When you cut it out on the diagonal with SCAL, it actually turns out to be about 13-14 inches long.  This totally worked for me because I needed it to span over both pages of my layout.

I've had this plaid paper in my stash for a really long time and it was the perfect one to use for my photo mats and it also kept me in line with my goal to use something old with all my projects LOL!   I think the orange mats brings out all the orange tones in the background paper.

So there you have it!  I'm so LUCKY you stopped by today and I hope you enjoyed my Lucky Leprechauns project.

Until next time...Happy Scrapping!

SO LUCKY Layout

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Today I'm sharing my layout using the Lucky Frog pattern, which happens to be this week's Freebie on the Little Scraps of Heaven Designs' website.  I also used the current Sketch Challenge as my layout inspiration.

I just HAD to use this funny picture of me and my sister-in-law; what were the chances of having a picture with frogs, right???  I just love how she loves to take fun and crazy pictures just as much as I do LOL!  Anyway, I really do feel LUCKY that she and I are more than family -- we really are the best of friends!

This Lucky Frog piece is just too stinkin' cute and was sooo easy to put together! If you haven't already downloaded this adorable little guy, then this is your "lucky" day and you can "jump" on over to the LSHD website and get him here while he's still FREE!

I made my own titles in eCAL using a font called Lobster Two.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today -- hope you have a great day!

Until next time ... Happy Scrapping!
